Nine nights. Three goddesses, three nights each. Durga for the first three — the warrior, who defeats evil through nine manifestations. Lakshmi for the middle three — abundance, beauty, plenty. Saraswati for the final three — knowledge, language, music. On the tenth day, Vijayadashami, the victory.
We open each evening at 6:30 pm for aarti, bhajan and garba — the traditional stick dance (dandiya), no prior experience required. Women often wear colours associated with the goddess of the night; anyone who would like to join is welcome.
