Thank you for your interest in our temple. Protecting your personal data is important to us. This statement informs you in accordance with Art. 13 GDPR about the processing of your data.

2. Hosting

This website is hosted by Vercel Inc. (440 N Barranca Ave #4133, Covina, CA 91723, USA). We have signed a data processing agreement (Art. 28 GDPR) and SCCs under Art. 46 GDPR for the US transfer. Legal basis: Art. 6 (1) f GDPR (legitimate interest in secure operation).

3. Server logs

When the website is accessed, technically necessary data is stored (anonymised IP, browser type, timestamp). Retention: 14 days. Legal basis: Art. 6 (1) f GDPR.

4. Cookies and similar technologies (TTDSG)

We only use strictly necessary cookies (e.g. language preference, consent state). Non-essential cookies are only set after explicit consent (opt-in) via the consent banner. Legal basis: § 25 (1) TTDSG together with Art. 6 (1) a GDPR.

5. Analytics

Subject to your consent we use Vercel Analytics — a cookieless, IP-anonymising tool operated in the EU. Without consent no measurement takes place.

6. Contact form & email

For enquiries, we process the data you submit in order to handle your request. Legal basis: Art. 6 (1) b GDPR (pre-contractual measures) or f. Data is deleted once the matter is resolved, unless statutory retention obligations (e.g. AO, HGB) apply.

7. Newsletter

The newsletter is sent only after explicit consent (double opt-in). Delivery is via Resend Inc. (US); SCCs are in place. You can revoke consent at any time via the unsubscribe link.

8. Donations & payments

Online donations are processed via Stripe Payments Europe Ltd. (Dublin, Ireland). Stripe's privacy policy applies (stripe.com/privacy). For bank transfers we process your bank details to record the donation and issue a tax receipt. Retention per § 147 AO (10 years).

9. Appointment booking

Bookings are handled by Cal.com Inc. (EU servers). We transmit your name, email and chosen pooja. Legal basis: Art. 6 (1) b GDPR.

10. Directions (Google Maps)

For directions to the temple we link out to Google Maps, operated by Google Ireland Limited (Gordon House, Barrow Street, Dublin 4, Ireland). We do not embed a Google Maps widget directly — only when you click a directions link does Google Maps open in a new tab or in the Google Maps app, at which point data (including your IP address, user-agent and the requested address) is transmitted to Google. A data transfer to the United States cannot be ruled out; EU Standard Contractual Clauses and the EU‑US Data Privacy Framework apply. Legal basis: Art. 6 (1) f GDPR (legitimate interest in offering visitors a familiar routing service). Google's privacy policy:{' '} policies.google.com/privacy.

11. Content management system (Hygraph)

Editorial content of this website is managed in the headless CMS Hygraph GmbH (Erika-Mann-Straße 23, 80636 Munich, Germany), whose content-delivery servers operate in the EU (eu-west-2). When a page is requested, technically necessary connection data (IP address, user-agent, requested resource) is processed to deliver the content. A data processing agreement under Art. 28 GDPR is in place. Legal basis: Art. 6 (1) f GDPR (legitimate interest in operating the website).

12. Temple assistant (Anthropic Claude)

Our temple assistant (chat widget in the bottom-right) is powered by the API of Anthropic, PBC (548 Market St, PMB 90375, San Francisco, CA 94104, USA). When you actively send a message, your input and the current conversation are transmitted to Anthropic servers in the United States in order to generate a response. Processing only occurs when you actively use the chat — merely seeing the chat button does not transmit any data. We do not store the conversation on our servers; Anthropic processes the data solely to answer your query and does not use it for model training.

For the US transfer, Standard Contractual Clauses under Art. 46 (2) c GDPR are in place. Anthropic is certified under the EU-US Data Privacy Framework. Legal basis: Art. 6 (1) a GDPR (consent through active use) and/or f (legitimate interest in providing a low-threshold information channel). Anthropic's privacy policy: anthropic.com/legal/privacy.
